Why Did We Die paracosmos — formal announcement posted by nicole, 2025.05.03

By mid-2016, while still anticipating a debut album release under my Dream Position alias, I had already begun work on its sophomore effort: the double CD Supermassive, at its surface a surreal delve into the subconscious ambitions and fears of its central subject, the reclusive noblelady Jest Lanthorn. I chipped away slowly at the project for about five years and then spent 9 months straight working on it pretty much every day leading up to its eventual debut in 2021, which was made to great praise, an outcome I maintain gratitude for; listeners were apperceptive of many of the work's broader themes in relation to the very dark place out of which they blossomed, which made me feel very seen and accomplished, but I have started feeling regretful over my decision not to include lyrics or more extensive supplementary material due to the obscurity of the story as published even after having spent so much time fleshing it out, in conflict with its status as an integral component of the narrative cycle to which it belongs, Why Did We Die (YDWD). Granted, I wasn't quite equipped for this task even at the time of release (too many gaps in the plot), but I am now, and I am currently undertaking the task of addressing these perceived shortcomings: the former with an upcoming series of extended lyrical versions of the album, collectively entitled Supermassive Venice, and the latter via a renewed focus on written content here on rogers.wiki. I expect to be releasing a brand new web experience utilizing a novel 3D interface under the name Why Did We Die paracosmos at this address by the end of the year. Base programming wrapped up in early March, leaving narrative flow and world design for me to complete. I will also be publishing a dream journal with this technology. Stay tuned!
