the big one.  full disclosure, since i havent really shared this stuff *anywhere* and nobody would be able to check me on this otherwise: in the years since release and leading up to this loredrop i have had to retcon some things and supplement some others (e.g. a lot of characters and locations were nameless, although some still are).  i use some peacock language when discussing the more spiritual elements which at the time likely exerted a more subconscious influence than i make them out to have.  but it's cooler that way!  the general trajectory of the story as published here remains faithful to the original intent.  enjoy!
