supermassive 05 (dream 1 chpt. 2) produced 2020.08.31–09.06 & 2021.08.12 dreamer-cum-Jest performs the first song of her set at Bristol's venue, the Wide Open. her accomplishment is briefly disturbed by an intimation of inferiority during which she wishes she were polymelian so that she might perhaps finally know a sense of social adequacy which she has long sought to attain through the ever-increasing complexity of her guitar playing. the mysterious woman, now distant, watches from a hotel room. --- heaps of unused material here, like reaver. this stuff is very distinctly less ambient, though. lots of midi stems. i spent a lot of time on this one too—arguably longer than 04, albeit intermittently—trying to capture that very specific second-hand euphoria of a late-90s jazz fusion show as viewed through the lens of a concert video filmed with one of those composite video cameras which instilled streaking/bleeding artifacts upon intense light, to be watched on a crt tv. engineering the rhythmic clapping of the crowd out of me clapping alone in my room was pretty hard. the applause at the end is sampled from t-square's megalith live, 1991. this was the final song of the initial draft to be completed, on August 12. --------- ◼ xeboix.mp3 the first iqjobxeb xeboix remix i did. these are made with the high-latency scrubbing technique employed by d'eon in his "trios" series of works. ◼ PROGRAMME_END.mp3 the blueprint for pretty much the entire thing. i sat on this loop for 3 or 4 years before iterating it into 05 03b.mp3, which became the basis for the final version. ◼ grand prix 1b.mp3 <3 this was originally going to be a bonus track (#30) but the album was long enough already so it was allocated to the 05 folder. i think the production sounds really good still, for the year it was made. ◼ mc_o8m.mp3 this song was written for the S3XMODITMANIA VII compo in 2019. at some point i decided to incorporate it into an iteration of this song (05 v6.mid); most of the material therein did not make it to the final cut, which turned out primarily to be an extended interpolation of that midi's final 30 seconds.
