FAIRE 003 "Thank you seawieldseap" - Mia of Talltower This album takes place in the early 11th century, shortly following the events of Pink Noise. Mia, now a teaching zitherist servicing a woodland community after abandoning her former life of regalia, begins to feel underappreciated in her role. One day, she mysteriously disappears, leaving the inhabitants down an ever-deepening rabbit hole in an effort to uncover who she truly was and where she went. I had always wanted to go in a more relaxed direction for this one; all of the tracks are planned to be ambient-adjacent, with a marked emphasis on solo piano. The main aesthetic inspiration is wataru's work on Yume 2kki in the late 2010s—"seawieldseap" as a symbol is meant to stand for this idea of a person you meet, experience a revelatory couple of hours with exploring or what have you, and then part ways with, forever. later, monologuing, thanking this person by proxy of the ether for the life-affirming experience you had; several of these pivotal episodes have informed my decisions regarding the development of the work, even in its current stage of pre-production.
